trials //// pruebas

I kept on sewing [jacarandá]. I decided to use pale lilac for the background and trying to make some contrast with dark blue and white. But I am completely lost at the moment with it, looking for a composition that works for me. Here I show you two of the attempts, but I made some more. And I still haven't found what I want to do. Despite the sketches. I had an idea that worked perfectly when drawn, but no when sewed.

The worst is that every attempt takes along time to be done, because I have to place scale by scale... I hope I find a solution soon.

He seguido cosiendo [jacarandá].

Today I liked these Little Gem Quilts from Cathy Corbishley, that remind me of cyanotype.

  1. Pues a mí me parece estupendo.

  2. I really like the contrast, it's a beautiful piece. I'm trying to be slower myself, and take my time in making decisions on pieces I'm doing. It's always hard though, because I like to have things right first time!

    1. Well, some pieces come at the first attempt and some don't. I like the process of looking for something still haven't found. When I reach it, it is wonderful! But it is also satisfying to make a work easily from the first idea.
Anyway, it is good to educate patience, isn't it?

  3. This piece holds great promise. The texture itself is interesting, and begs for touching. Maybe there doesn't need to be a border - yet - maybe just wait and continue with the texture part, and what you need to do next colour wise or whatever, will arrive as your hands do the thinking.

    1. I know that something is not working well because I AM TRYING TO FORCE IT. Now I know it. I don't usually work this way, but this time I want it. Maybe it is a challenge, maybe it is a mistake. Anyway, at the moment and thanks to your comment, I have decided to make two different works.
      Thanks Judy!
